Comments from Miranda Owners

(Check out our new Photo Album too!)

From S. S. in Germany

"Sorry that I didn't write earlier, informing you about my Miranda guitar! She arrived safely 2 weeks ago, despite snow and wind. Some more concerts and a flu prevented me from trying it out earlier."

"My cat was very worried and thought something would be very wrong: no sound. But I was sitting there with my earphones and am actually very pleased with the result. What I really like is, that I can use my guitar support. I will bring the guitar with me to humid Mexico this winter."

"Thank you very much and congratulation to your construction of this travel guitar!"

From V. S. in Canada

"Just wanted to take a moment to thank you for the guitar. It had arrived several days ago. The guitar sounds quite nice. The sound is better than that of Y[xxxxx] silent guitars. It is amazing how simple and yet effective Miranda's design is."

From M. T. in New Zealand

"Absolutely fantastic. It has given me more encouragement to play. Also it does not annoy my family. Thanks. You guys are wonderful."

From N. C. in New Mexico

"I was and still am thrilled! I love it! I Love it! It more than met my expectations and they were pretty high."

From J. B. in Colorado
 "
Just stumbled across the photo page. That is great!" [He just now sees his photos from previous emails]

"I would like to tell you that I now use my Miranda (that is her name in my house) for all concerts and recitals. I have EQ'd with an Acousticube 3 ("a touch of phasing and a touch of reverb") and it sounds so good (AND is so easy to use since I do not have to worry about microphones and placement on stage where I avoid "print through") that it is the instrument of choice. Thanks..."

From A. B. in California

[18 months after buying his Miranda] "You know, I'm constantly surprised at the wonderful way this guitar responds. It's hard to believe it's a piece of wood with strings attached!! There's something about the perfect string tension, the distance between strings and fretboard, the neck width, the way it responds to my touch, and it's amazing sonority without any kind of soundboard."

From P. T. in Oregon

"Excellent action. Set up was impeccable. The phones supplied are not up to standard of the guitar, but my AKG phones were perfect. Thru amp its superb! Very surprising action - as good as my Martins and my Webber!"

From S. I. in Australia

"The guitar arrived yesterday and I'm thrilled with it - it plays great and it's easy peasy to put together and pull apart. You guys are geniuses!!!!!!!! Thanks very much. (I'll be showing it to everyone)" [Geniuses?? Well, if you say so.]

From R. P. in Texas
"I read your ad in the GFA magazine "Soundboard". I went to your website, and your product seems to overcome all the objections I had with the other travel classical guitars available. I can hardly wait to get it. It should arrive in plenty of time for my birthday."

[After receiving his Miranda] "Impressed at quality materials & engineering. Also it was RTU [ready-to-use, no doubt] upon assembly -- even battery! Exceeded my expectations."

 [A few weeks later]
"I recently purchased your Nylon String Travel Guitar and after about two years of shopping I could not be more pleased than I am with your product."

"I am looking for a small "travel amp" to take with me on my travels. One that will be small and light enough to fit in a suitcase, yet with a reasonable fidelity. I am presently using a satellite computer speaker that does a fair job, but lacks sound quality. Can you make any suggestions?"
[This question comes up regularly. I suggest you try one of the inexpensive, compact, amplified speakers sold for use with mp3 players and iPods. If you happen to have some of the smaller Altec Lansing computer speakers, they are even better. The bigger ones, with the separate bass units, are best; but not very portable.]

From M. W. in Australia

[Upon buying his second Miranda] "This is a replacement guitar for the one I bought from you about a year ago. I had to leave that one with a 67 year old crazy rock n roller who runs an Eco resort on Haggerstone Island off the coast off far north Queensland. He fell in love with it straight away and begged me to leave it with him. He connected it to his stereo and blasted his guests with a few great songs."

"I have taken that one through Rajasthan on holiday in India, and it has been played by a famous guy called VISHWA Mohan Bhatt. (He won a Grammy with Ry Cooder). We went to visit him. I bought the guitar as I have been studying classical guitar for just over a year. It's great for my time away from home. Just some feedback for you!!! If u come to Australia it would be nice to buy you dinner."

From M. L. in Australia

"Just want to give you some feedback on the guitar. It arrived a lot quicker than expected & I have used it extensively over the last week or so & am extremely happy with all aspects of the guitar from the action & sound all the way through to the break down & carry case. It is perfect for me to keep up my playing as I travel extensively for my work & with all the gear I have to cart around having a full sized guitar case is not practical. So thanks for coming up with this great guitar."

From M. C. in Hawaii

"Your guitar arrived today and I've spent the past hour playing it and I really like it! I've been playing it through a Mesa Boogie amp and it just sounds great! I'm very impressed."

From P. V.-A. im Massachusetts

"I recently bought one of your Miranda guitars, and I have to say it is absolutely lovely! Not only is it extremely portable, I've discovered a couple of things about this guitar that I hadn't expected. I knew it came with headphones, but I didn't realize you could hook it up to an amp, which my guitar teacher did when I showed it to him. My goodness, what wonderful sounds came out of that amp! Thanks for that."

"I also brought the guitar into school, where I teach science to middle school kids. We were studying genetics, and in thinking about mutations, I put together your guitar and then we had a wonderful discussion! Thanks for adding to my science lesson that day."

From A. C. in Michigan
 "Beautiful Guitar"
[Later, A. C. called to say he had played his Miranda in the dining room of the hotel he stayed at in Australia, and it stirred up several inquiries. That might explain the spurt of Australian orders we got (see a couple of comments above).]

From F. S. in Minnesota

"I've had my Miranda S-250 for a few months now, and it was one of the best purchase decisions I've made. My only problem now is that my friends who travel have been borrowing it to "test it out." But the good news is that I'll be responsible for a few more sales of these awesome instruments!"

From S. T. in Canada

"Just wanted to let you know that I received the GTR on Saturday. It arrived in excellent condition. The "play" is fantastic as well. I would be more than happy to write-up a review if you'd like."

[Two months later] "I bought the gtr about 2 months ago for the following reasons:

Avid classical guitar player (30 years) with very little time to practice / perform
Business person who travels a lot and looking for an instrument that is:
1. plays well (close to concert gtr's)
2. mobile (can travel with easily, light and compact)
3. silent (no disruption in the office, airport, hotel")

"Well after 2 months of experience
Lots of travel (comes with me all the time, light and compact)
Lots of cancelled and delayed flights (6 hrs waiting in plane, perfecting Zapateado while others are "fuming" with impatience / boredom)
Playing in Madison Park (NYC, lots of interested looks and comments)"

"This was one of my best investments. For anyone who is a business person / avid classical guitarist who is looking for an instrument that plays well and compact, there is no other gtr than a Miranda."

From R. T. in Minnesota

"Very impressive."

"All in all, the Miranda is a really nice piece of equipment, better than I expected. It feels just fine in the lap, plays very much like my other guitars, and sounds great through an amplifier, if a bit different from something with a hollow body. I am learning ways to work with the tone and to use the sustain I get through an amplifier in cool ways, especially in jazz. Heck, since I am now amplified and even though I'm in my 60's, I may have to pick up some blues or even rock! Look out Clapton."

From L.K. in Connecticut

"
It arrived just when you said it would. The guitar absolutely is the answer to my problem. Thanks for getting it here quickly, for your excellent communication, and for designing it!"

[Three weeks later] "Thrilled to have a classical guitar to play, day or night, that I don't have to worry about cracking between visits to Mom in AZ."

From G. O. in California

"
I just purchased a Roland Mobile Cube for about $160.00 from Musiciansfriend.com recently and played for my family during the Xmas holiday. I can hardly believe the sound I get from this guitar. The dynamics of volume are incredible. I set the Chorus and Reverb on the Cube and I get a very professional acoustic sound that is comparable to a very expensive sound system and the volume can more than compensate for a large room. The only drawback that I am getting with this amplifier is that the breaker shuts off after the volume peaks at a certain point, so I make sure the volume is not too high. Not too difficult and everyone tells me that I sound very professional.
"

"Your guitar sounds good enough for a future concert that I may hope to play."

From J. H. in Minnesota

"Very playable! Very enjoyable to play. Easy action."

"Already used it to travel - easy to travel with. Played it in hotel room & airport lounge. At home, my wife can study & sleep through it when I play at night."

From P. H. in Finland

"I received the guitar from customs in fine condition, it was even in tune, and everything seems to work. I am experimenting with different guitar amp settings which is quite fun for a classical background."

From M. S. in Oregon

"The Miranda arrived this afternoon! It is so easy to assemble and an absolute joy to play!!
Still doing an amplifier search. In no hurry. Sure I will find one. Will let you know how it works when I do."

  "What a wonderful travel guitar!"

From M. W. in Florida
"Thank-you the guitar came as promised and I found the pick guard, no problem. I have to say that the guitar plays extremely well. Nice tone (for a body-less guitar) and very good action and play-a-bility. Very comfortable to hold as well. Nice job and well worth the money!"

From M. H. in Finland
"I'm writing to let you know my guitar arrived yesterday in good condition. It is funny to note that it took two days for the guitar to travel from the US to Finland and almost a week from the Finnish Customs to my door."

"The Miranda Guitar met my expectations and I'm very pleased with it."

From J-M. L. in France
"I'm using your CFX200 for a few years now and I'm always very satisfied with it. I want to replace all strings now and I'm wondering what is the best brand / type for the strings to have a result as close as possible to the sound of a classic guitar." [We use D'Addario medium-tension Pro Arte EJ45 string sets on our CFX-200 guitars. They are particularly well suited to this instrument.]

From X. K. in Japan

"I am sorry reply so late, my compute could not work, I just changed a new one.The guitar was achieved a week ago, It`s so fast, out of my expectancy. Thank you so much."

From M. S. in Germany
"On Tuesday last week the two instruments reached me safe and very well packed. Thank you again for your efforts. I was very busy the last days so didn't find time to write earlier or to play much - I just had about one hour on each instrument up to now, may be a little bit more on the Nylon. But my first impression is very good. Very handy and resonant and surely will even get better when played in. What impressed me most is functionality. When to say "form follows function" about a guitar - here it is! Just works ..."

From R.L. in New York
"I received one of your CFX 200 guitars in perfect shape last week and have been playing it lots and with enthusiasm in these few days. I am impressed by the feel of it, and the tone is remarkably good through good earphones (those Cobys aren’t worth much) or an amplifier. I haven’t yet traveled with it, but look forward to that as a much less stressful experience than traveling with one of my other guitars. Ingenious design, beautifully portable." [Re: the headphones that we include -- everyone has their own preference for headphones. We include an inexpensive one so that you'd have something to use when you get the guitar. That said, many buyers find them good enough.]

From R. G. in Kentucky
"Received my new CFX-200 today. After assembling (2 minutes!) and checking the tuning, I began to play. This guitar is way more than I expected. I had a Y[xxxxx] Silent Classical Guitar several years ago and the tone was horrible and moved considerably every time I wanted to play. The tone on the Miranda is exceptional for an electronically induced guitar. I am hoping the guitar will stay in tune." [It will!]

"I have played and studied the classical guitar for over 8 years and was tired of the Russian Roulette game of checking one of my good guitars through as luggage since I fly on business every week. I decided to try the Miranda, primarily due to a few reviews I have read, and the 7 day trial. I can't imagine sending this back as it feels and sounds very similar to my other classical guitars. I plan to write a review on Delcamp.net this weekend after traveling with the Miranda over the next 3 days."

"Good job! Good quality! Good instrument!"

See R.G.'s complete posted review on the Delcamp website.

From G. B. in Iowa

"I was impressed that the playability was similar to my acoustic steel string. It met my expectations in every way."

From R. L. in Israel

"got the guitar, love it, it's what i was looking for"

From C. A. in New York

"The guitar arrived in great shape. The design, materials, workmanship, and most importantly the sound are much better than "Brand S." It is much easier to use the proper playing position and posture. This will definitely add a lot more chances to practice."

From G. O. in California

"It seemed a little bit on the bright side but with an adjustment is very nice. [Miranda guitars have a brightness control.] Very clean sound. Easy to assemble and take apart."

From B.C. in California

"LOVE my Miranda. I was wondering if string choice makes a big difference on these guitars?" [B. C. bought a steel-string S-250. We tried several different D'Addario string sets when we built the prototype for this model. Their EFT 16 "Flat Tops", which we put on these instruments, seemed to us give the best response -- that is, the closest to a full-size acoustic guitar, played acoustically. There may be other good choices. The best choice for your S-250 may not be the strings you prefer on your other guitars.]

From H. J. in Ohio

"
Over all, I am very pleased. This guitar fills a need for me perfectly. It plays as good or better than my other guitars."

From M. S. in Arkansas

"
The guitar arrived tonight. Sounds great."

From S. D. in California

"The Miranda has been great. We recently spent three weeks in England. It sure was nice not to have to worry about carry-on space in planes or disturbing my wife's reading while in small hotel rooms."

From K. W. in Sweden

"Now I have used my Miranda for a while and I am very satisfied with it. I have already traveled to Germany with it once and it is really a nice feeling to have a guitar in the hotel room. I also use it a lot for practicing since it is 'quiet'."

From F. R. in New York

"It did meet my expectations. I found that it played and felt similar to a standard classical guitar of the same price range".

From E. E. in Massachusetts

"I just wanted to follow up on my purchase and tell you that I'm very satisfied so far. The guitar is easy to assemble, has made it thru several airport security checks, and is great for helping me practice when I otherwise wouldn't be able to."

From G. C. in Texas
"Excellent -- Both I and my teacher love it!"

From D. F. in Florida
"Yesterday (Tuesday), I received the Miranda classical guitar that you sent to me. The guitar is beautiful and an amazing technological invention. This guitar will help me reach my goals as a classical guitarist. The guitar arrived in tune! Thank you for your hard work in getting the guitar to me ahead of schedule; much appreciated."

From R. R. in Illinois
 "Very pleased"

From B. P. in Canada
"I just received my much-anticipated Miranda S-250; the guitar far exceeds my expectations! Congratulations on a wonderful design. I do have one [silly] question, though: What is the brightness control knob for? If it is to tone down the green power-on light, it does not work." [I think B. P. is pulling our leg, but the answer is: It modifies the amplitude of the higher harmonics of the string vibrations.]

From M. D. in Maine
"Thank you so much for the beautiful Miranda guitar. My husband loves it. He has been playing it ever since it arrived. And the Miranda did arrive in time to go to France with my husband."

"I appreciate your product and customer service. My husband will be posting his travel adventures with Miranda on the website." [see next entry]

From R. D. in Maine
"I really like the way it fits in my lap. Action is very good (better than my 'real' guitar). Very good overall! I will enjoy showing off!!!"

From J. S. in Indiana
"The Miranda S-250 is an extremely well made musical instrument that should put a smile on guitar playing travelers' faces." [From a review on J.S.'s website The Gadgeteer]

From N. F. in Maine
"Great practice guitar. The transition between guitars (acoustic) is smooth."

From J. P. in Georgia
"The Miranda is better than the Y[xxxxx] or S[xxxxxxx] sound wise (and every other way:-)."

From J. M. in Tennessee
"The frets are identical to a classical guitar. Allows me to practice much more often on trips and at work."

[several months later] "I love the guitar. I travel 3 days a week. It's allows me to use my travel time to practice. I'm lost without it."

From M. K. in California
"Given the price, I expected to be disappointed and to send the guitar back. I travel a lot (usually with one of my big fat pain-in-the-ass acoustics), and thought I'd give it a try. It's a keeper! The action is clean, smooth, tight, and accurate. The electro-acoustic sound is certainly good enough. It ain't my Goodall, but it'll be on the plane with me."

From D. R. in New York
"Awesome -- beautifully designed, sounds great for having no sound board."

From J. W. in Texas
"Your guitar arrived in fine fashion and it is a joy to play. Great piece of equipment."

From R. W. in Wyoming
"I was amazed and pleased. It has outperformed my other travel guitar. I can't wait to "show off" at our next guitar meeting. Many thanks."

From P. C. in the U.K.
"The guitar is everything I was looking for; the neck has the same nut width as my acoustic classical and feels approximately the same; the action is excellent and the sound is very close to acoustic sound."

"Playing it for the first time was a surprise as it in fact exceeded my expectations. I shall mostly be using my Miranda for practicing late at night when my spiteful neighbor likes to bang on the wall (he's been there since Christmas but only started objecting to my playing after my wife asked him to turn his party music down a notch last month). I shall also take advantage of my Miranda's compact traveling facility."

"All in all I'm extremely pleased with the guitar. Many, many thanks for an excellent product. It gets better every time I pick it up."

From C. M. in Pennsylvania

"Quite nice. Overall design, playability both excellent."

From T. D. in Connecticut
"It arrived safe and sounding great. What a neat product. A bit of tuning and it was off to the races. Thanks for working with me on it [re: next day delivery]. I am very fortunate to have such a fun instrument to play on the road."

From B. D. in Australia
"It's been nearly two years since I bought my CFX-200 and I've taken it all over the world, including a hot and dusty part of the Senegal-Mali border in West Africa, Uzbekistan, United Kingdom, New Zealand to name just a few. It has always attracted attention - occasionally by security personnel at airports. Needless to say it is with me whenever I travel and gives me the opportunity to work on repertoire."

"The guitar has been fun to play and so convenient. I have had no problems regarding bringing it on to aircraft as cabin luggage. The sound is great and this has been commented on by others".

From E. D. in Canada
"Wow! Just what I was looking for. I have tried B[xxxxxxxxx], [can't make out the next word], but this is great. Thanks."

From D. T. in California
"I am very happy with the guitar; it is sturdy, provides a close-to-real-flamenco guitar playing experience, the sound over the headphone is real, and the fact that it does not make a lot of audible noise to outsiders is wonderful for traveling."

From B. K. in Texas
"I love my Miranda guitar. My guitar was purchased earlier this year but I didn't really have a chance to use it fully until last week when my family took a vacation to go on an Alaskan cruise by way of Vancouver. When broken down for transport, the guitar had not a single problem as a carry on for the air travel portion. When assembled in our stateroom, it remained unobtrusive enough in a corner but was always available whenever I felt the mood to play (which was often). Our cabin steward was just fascinated by it. It replaced what could have been a week of absolutely no guitar practice and to a week where I could practice more than usual."

"My guitar instructor was very impressed with the guitar and has indicated to me that he has several students who travel frequently and who would benefit from having such a tool. I don't know if it has generated any additional inquiries for you but he tells me that he has suggested this guitar to those students."

From J. M. in California
"Received the guitar. Like it a lot! Thanks."

From P. H. in Florida
"I got my guitar yesterday. I think it is awesome. I know I will get a lot of enjoyment out of this.
Thanks for making this."

From J. P. in Washington (state)
"Very much like a 'real' guitar - much more so than the A[xxx] travel guitar."

[A month later] "I used my Miranda guitar for the last three weeks during travels in Europe, and I'm very pleased with it."

From G. F. in California
"Felt exactly like my classical Fender guitar."

From J. P. in Pennsylvania
"Packaging was great! Thanks. The instrument is great. Felt natural to play. When I first opened the case I was pleasantly surprised by its appearance."

"All in all, great instrument for me."

From J.-M. L. in France
"I have just received the guitar this morning 8h30, thanks ! It was perfectly shipped, and on time!
Thanks a lot again for this beautiful product."

From L. J. in Arizona
"The guitar plays great and will be very useful when I go on trips."

From J. P. in Texas

"Received the Miranda this afternoon, put it together and tried it out. My compliments on a job well done in designing this. It went together easily, and, well OK, it not quite the sound of my 1977 Kohno 30, but,
hey, for something that can be transported on airlines, it's pretty damn good. I have an amp I use with a Takamine electric-classical for gigs in loud places, and I plugged the Miranda into it and was able to tweak the sound a bit, and was impressed."

"My student is a child psychiatrist originally from Thailand who is about to turn 75, flies everywhere to go skiing, plays tennis with people 40 years younger(and beats them!). She took up guitar 3 yrs ago and is doing pretty good for such a late start. I'm going to take the guitar over to her tomorrow and I'm sure she is going to like it. Nice job!"

[From J.P's student] "Very surprised that it works so well."

From R. C. in California
"The Miranda has let me make use of my lunch hour for practice and those moments during the day when I have to get away from what's on my desk. It's the perfect size to just slip into one of the letter drawers of a file cabinet fully assembled (there's even a few files in there). When I want to hear what I'm playing I just plug my computer's speakers into it. It's easy to just grab and play -- and put away if someone knocks on the door! I don't think I'm fooling anyone. The straight-back wooden chair with a foot stool under it kind of gives it away."

From J. B. in Colorado
"Got the guitar and it looks and plays very well. I have it here in my office today and, while playing over lunch, had a lot of "what the H%$$ is that?" reactions from those who passed by (the mechanical engineers especially). The fretboard is quite "active" and the guitar in general is easy to play (and very easy to tune with my Peterson). Additionally, it sounds excellent with my AER Acousticube3 (which has a setting specifically for the 9V output) and I think it will be performance ready after a bit of experimentation with the EQ."

[Later] "I am leaving for China, Malaysia, and Singapore on 3/17/06 for 16 days and the Miranda will be accompanying me throughout." [See James' photos from this trip in the Photo Album]

[Many months later] "The Miranda has made another sojourn to Asia. This time with performance included (the musicians at the dinner were rather intrigued but the engineers were fascinated...). Anyway, another pic for you (sounded great on the PA)".

From M. G. in Switzerland
"The guitar has arrived in mint condition. It's great for practicing on travel and even smaller and lighter than I expected!"

From D. C. in Arizona
"I'm delighted with my new Miranda and impressed by what you have accomplished. It's easy to imagine how much effort went into the design and prototyping, as well as the patent process and manufacturing. The design, in particular, is intelligent and innovative. Your guitar is easily the most compact of the frame guitars, which is ideal for travel. Yet, when I close my eyes, it feels like a classical guitar. All of the touch points are in the right places, which makes it comfortable to play. More importantly, moving between the Miranda and my acoustic guitar requires almost no adjustment in technique."

"The amplified sound is actually fun. It has drawn my attention to passages that could be phrased a little differently on my acoustic guitar, so I have benefited from playing the Miranda at home too. In short, the Miranda is exactly what I have been looking for. Excellent work! I admire what you have accomplished."

From J. T. in New Jersey
  "Wonderful! I love it."

From A. G. in Italy
"This is [A. G.] writing. Do you remember? I bought a CFX 200 Miranda guitar last year.
A student of mine is seriously interested to buy another one."
[Prof. G.'s student bought a CFX-200.]

From R. S. in Colorado
"I work at the same place as [J. B.] who purchased a left-handed CFX 200. I am interested in purchasing a right-handed S-250 steel string. I am one of the guys who saw him playing in his office and wondered where the instrument came from. Since I travel a lot the S-250 looks like just the solution for me. I tried a S[xxxxxxx] that belongs to another friend and was disappointed. I was impressed with the quality of workmanship I saw in [J.B.'s] CFX 200." [R.S. bought a S-250.]

From R. D. in Ohio
“The sound is better than I expected and it feels very good in playing position and the action is low--similar to my other guitar. My son has adopted it for now, but I expect he will lose interest soon--at least I hope that is the case. He plays the distorted rock music sound--of course the Miranda will do that too when connected to the distortion units.”

“Wish I had seen the center mounting piece for the sides in the pictures. That is what makes the unit 'solid'. Thanks for a wonderful instrument that will serve me well.”

From J. F. in California
“The playability is superb. The body feels like a real guitar and it is comfortable. It is a pleasure to play, even acoustically! The Line In component is EXTREMELY useful and fun to use. I can plug in my
metronome or Ipod and the level and sound quality mesh very nicely. And, its fun to put it together. Its the best investment I've ever made! ”

[Two weeks later] "I LOVE playing the guitar. I have taken it on the plane without a hassle, I have practiced on the train to San Francisco, taken it camping and got GREAT practice!" [Emphasis J. F.'s]

[Several months later] "I'm off to New Zealand for 3 weeks of backpacking and practice with my
Miranda! Thanks again for all your help and geniusness! Great design!"

From M. N. in Georgia
Good. Will take some time to get the feel; I play mostly nylon. Really cool!" [M. N. bought a steel-string S-250.]

From B. H. in California
“Amazing how it 'feels' and sounds like a full-size guitar. Thanks. You have made travel more bearable!”

From H. K. in New Jersey
“Received the guitar yesterday.  I've been playing a S[xxxxxxx] on my travels; and I can't believe how much better your instrument is, by comparison.”

“The design of your guitar [provides] a much more realistic playing experience.  The guitar looks and feels much more like the guitar I play when I am not traveling.  The S[xxxxxxx] approximates the playing of an actual classical guitar, while yours closely replicates it.  Plus, your design doesn't require ball-end strings, which allows for a much wider string choice.  Thanks again.” [H. K. refers to the nylon-string CFX-200. The steel-string S-250 does use ball-end strings, for which there is a wide selection.]

From M. D. in Colorado
“I just got back from my trip and your Miranda performed just great! It'll get a lot of use!”

From C. C. in California
“I am pleased with the sound quality and overall workmanship.”

From C. S. in Utah
"First, let me say I think the Miranda guitar is absolutely great! I own 3 guitars, all acoustic steel-string dreadnoughts and traveling with them is difficult, at best. By contrast, the Miranda guitar is a joy to carry. It's light, fits in the overhead bin, and the shoulder strap leaves both hands free. It's as easy to carry as a laptop. And, when assembled, the full sides of the guitar and the pickguard make it feel so similar to my dreadnoughts, after a short while I don't think about the minor differences at all. Just what I'd like to have in a travel guitar."

"So, all in all, wonderful! On my first trip with my new Miranda I wrote a new song! It's great to be able to play when inspiration strikes. And, I'm sure my playing will improve rapidly now that I have so many more opportunities to practice. Thank you for creating the Miranda."

[An update...] "It's been the better part of a year since we corresponded about the steel string Miranda I purchased. I'm happy to say that both it and I are doing well. Most weeks it gets about 10,000 air miles put on it and continues to perform flawlessly." [That's Captain C. S.]

From J. K. in Ohio
"Thanks for letting me play your guitars at the Healdsburg festival. I loved them and plan to order one soon. I wish I had had one of these years ago; I'd be a much better player after having spent so many nights in a hotel room for work! Keep up the great work." [Six months later, J.K. bought a steel-string S-250.]

From T. O. in New York
  "The feel was quite good."

We came across this nice aside by T. O. in a review of another guitar, which he posted on Music 123's website:
"I needed another guitar like a third nostril, and have 3 really good ones as well as a Miranda travel guitar (fabulous guitar for practice when traveling); but one day I was driving around Chicago..." [emphasis ours].

From M. M. in California
"Received the guitar yesterday without incident. Excellent packaging. Nice instrument! I first saw the Miranda Guitar at La Guitarra California 2005 in SLO and was very impressed by it (I should have bought it then, huh?). Anyway, thank you so much for your lightning fast response, I really appreciate it."

[Three weeks later, after a trip to the Middle East with his Miranda CFX-200] "The feel of the guitar is very much like a full size classical and the sound is good too."

More from the August 2003 issue of Acoustic Guitar Magazine
“The Miranda also features a headless design, with the strings attached to a tie block behind the nut, tuning machines located on the back of the body, and the strings going over a set of rollers behind the saddle. This design allows the overall length of the disassembled body to be only 2.5 inches longer than the instrument scale.”

“Putting the C-100 together and taking it apart...[is] easily done in about a minute.”

Note: The CFX-200 is our upgraded replacement for the C-100 that AGM had evaluated.
