About
Miranda Guitars
On
November 7, 1844, Miranda Guitars' namesake, Doña Juana Briones
de Miranda, purchased a rancho of 4,400 acres in Northern
California, for the price of $300. Juana's rancho is now in
the heart of Silicon Valley—and worth quite a bit more. Our
shop is on this land and our guitars reflect its dual heritage—fusing
the Spanish tradition of guitar making with the technological
enrichment of the Valley.

Miranda
Guitars' founder, Phil
Green, has realized a long held dream — to develop a full-sized
guitar with the portability of a violin, yet the feel and playability
and full-bodied sound of an acoustic instrument, as well as attractive
styling, and the advantage of silent practice.
Miranda
Guitars are unique in function and structure. They demand manufacturing
skills and facilities that are not to be found under the roof of
a small shop such as ours—guitar making, metal and polymer parts
fabrication, electronics fabrication and access to a myriad of specialized
components. Miranda is pleased to have formed alliances with an
array of the best specialists in the Valley and beyond.
